A rounded chocolate base gives way to vibrant cranberry and the juicy sweetness of red grape. The result is a clean, compact, and highly balanced cup with enough character to stand out while remaining easy to brew.
This washed Catuai combines two particularly enjoyable qualities: a sweet, chocolate-driven structure that works well as espresso and a brighter fruit character that becomes more defined in filter brewing.
Flavor Profile
- Main notes: chocolate, cranberry, and red grape
- Acidity: medium, juicy, and well integrated
- Body: medium, rounded, and structured
- Aftertaste: long, sweet, and lightly chocolatey
- Overall profile: clean, compact, fruit-forward, and balanced
Chocolate forms the foundation of the cup, creating a stable and comforting character. Cranberry introduces lively fruit acidity, while red grape adds sweetness, juiciness, and greater depth as the coffee cools.
Origin and Processing
This coffee comes from Finca El Puente, located in the department of La Paz, Honduras, and is produced by Marysabel Caballero and Moisés Herrera.
Marysabel’s family has been connected to coffee cultivation since the early twentieth century. Together with Moisés, she has developed a farming model focused on quality, controlled processing, and complete coffee traceability.
The coffee trees grow between 1,500 and 1,680 m.a.s.l., in a mountainous area whose conditions encourage gradual ripening and good sugar concentration.
The Catuai variety represents an important part of the farm’s production. Its structure, sweetness, and versatility can deliver balanced and consistent coffees when carefully cultivated and selected.
During the washed process, the fruit and mucilage are removed before drying. This creates a clean and organised cup in which chocolate, cranberry, and red grape remain clearly distinguishable.
