Origin and Processing
Golden Tropic comes from the renowned Las Lajas Micromill, located in Sabanilla de Alajuela, Costa Rica's Central Valley.
The coffee is produced by Francisca and Oscar Chacón, whose dedication to specialty coffee has established Las Lajas as a reference for carefully developed processing methods.
The coffee trees grow between 1,250 and 1,700 m.a.s.l., in an environment where climate and careful cherry selection contribute to rich aromatic expression.
This lot combines the Caturra and Catuai varieties, providing a balanced foundation of sweetness, structure, and fruit character.
Processing begins with a rigorous selection of ripe coffee cherries. After cleaning and sorting, the whole cherries undergo a slow and carefully controlled Natural drying process.
Drying takes approximately 22 to 30 days on protected drying patios, with the duration adjusted according to sunlight conditions.
The coffee is then rested to stabilise its moisture and aromatic profile before final sorting.
This meticulous approach produces a highly concentrated cup where pineapple, vanilla, and tropical sweetness come together with a rich, enveloping texture.
