Nestled in the mountains of Yercaud, southern India, Riverdale Coffee Estate is a family-run coffee farm surrounded by tropical forests and remarkable natural biodiversity.

At 1,500 metres above sea level, brothers Mohan and Prakash Balaraman cultivate the SLN 9 variety, combining generations of family experience with modern farming and processing techniques.

The result is a beautifully balanced specialty coffee featuring notes of caramelized hazelnuts, chocolate and apricot, complemented by pronounced sweetness, a rounded body and gentle, ripe acidity.

Origin and Processing

Riverdale Coffee Estate is located in India's Eastern Ghats, within a lush forest environment rich in tropical vegetation and native trees.

The Balaraman family combines careful agricultural practices with modern processing facilities. A dedicated wet mill, controlled drying conditions and meticulous quality control help maintain consistency throughout production.

This lot features SLN 9, an Arabica variety developed from Ethiopian coffee genetics and Híbrido de Timor.

The coffee undergoes a washed process, in which the fruit pulp is removed and the coffee is washed before drying. This approach helps bring out a clean, well-balanced expression of its natural flavour characteristics.
