Origin and Processing
Crimson Grape comes from Kapetenango, a small plot situated above Finca La Maravilla in Huehuetenango, Guatemala.
This nanolot is produced by Mauricio Rosales, a coffee grower known for his work with selected varieties and distinctive high-altitude specialty coffees.
The coffee grows at 2,000 meters above sea level, where mountain conditions provide an interesting environment for exploring unusual coffee varieties.
The Batian variety was originally developed in Kenya to combine resistance to certain coffee diseases, good productivity, and high cup quality potential.
When cultivated in Guatemala, this variety reveals a distinctive sensory expression with red grapes, blood orange, and forest berries.
The coffee undergoes Washed processing, helping preserve flavor clarity and highlighting the balance between lively acidity and rich fruit sweetness.
Produced in very small quantities, this nanolot offers a rare opportunity to discover a Kenyan-developed variety grown in an unexpected origin.
